The Zen Twin

The Zen Twin is my spin on a mid twin. Really the idea of a mid twin in my opinion is that it’s the board you want to take out when you want to go out and catch a lot of waves and surf with style. Something great about the Zen Twin is it really covers a wide range of waves. Anywhere from knee high and soft to double overhead and hollow. Fast, fun, and free flowing. That is the idea with this board.

Breaking down the Zen Twin we can start looking at the outline. With the wide point pulled an 1” forward of center we can see a moderately wide nose template and slow curve coming back towards the tail to a moderately wide tail template as well. A pretty flat rocker through the center with a bit of flip in the nose and the tail. Concaves are rolled vee in the nose, shallow single through center, and inset double to vee through the tail. Another distinct characteristic here is the fin placement. I place the fins pretty far back on this model. This adds hold and drive and helps the board feel a bit more like a thruster. So we get the speed of a twin without that super loose feeling twins can get. Much more directional control than your normal twin fin.

Just a ton of fun an an excellent addition to anyones quiver. Recommended ordering anywhere from 10-16” longer than your height depending on ability level.
