The Cold Slice

The Cold Slice was actually originally born when I lived in New York and was surfing Long Beach area all the time. Designed around east coast style waves the Cold Slice features a wider nose and tail template, shallow cut chop swallow tail, a flatter “staged” style rocker, a mild hip just behind the front fins, and slightly fuller more boxy style rails.

This board paddles like a dream. About as easy to catch waves on as its ever gonna get on a shortboard. It has a ton of get up and go as soon as you get to your feet. This in part as to do with the flat portion of the rocker between your feet which acts as a leverage point to push off the wave and generate speed easily. Once up and going at top speed however its not tracky like some ultra fast boards can be. It maintains its ability to stay loose and sparky. The slight hip and accentuated rail rocker in the tail enable this board to easily roll from edge to edge at high speed. The cold slice also holds really well in solid overhead hollow surf despite how small it is.

This board is an excellent choice for you groveler style shortboard, anyone who wants a shortboard with a ton of speed, or air guys.
